Through these innovative spaces, our ambition is to create a place for exchanges, meetings and cross-fertilisation between all the professionals working in the field of light, and to develop a high level of entertainment that will benefit residents and visitors alike.
Located in the Confluence district in the heart of Lyon in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, Lumen, the Cité de la Lumière, is Europe’s new hub for light, offering world-class spaces and facilities for those involved in research and innovation, training and the business world around lighting and light.
The Lumen ‘reactor’ brings together the 3 pillars of this hub on 2 floors :
- On the 1st floor : ENTPE’s Research & Innovation area brings together 400m2 of world-class scientific and technical equipment :
– Twin rooms for analysing colour effects
– Test and demonstration hall,
– High luminance cinema,
– bi-directional photometric measurement equipment for materials,
– Other equipment available for hire. - On the 1st floor : the Campus Lumière training area includes a Lab Lumière training and experimentation room (60m2) as well as an interactive and immersive journey to discover light, its innovations, uses and professions (120m2).
- 2nd floor : Le Collectif Lumen du Cluster Lumière is a permanent exhibition space comprising 7 open-plan boxes, each measuring 11m2, available to hire for 12 or 24 months and designed to showcase the innovations of lighting and lighting-related companies.
